Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Ariyalur district on July 27th. He will attend the “Mupperum Vizha and this festival celebrates three important events: King Rajendra Chola’s birthday.

Big preparations are ongoing for the event. A large hall for ten thousand people and a stage are being set up. PM Modi will fly from Kerala to Tiruchirappalli and then take a helicopter to Gangaikonda Cholapuram, where a helipad is being built.
During his three-hour visit, he will release a special coin for Rajendra Chola. He will also see a photo exhibition and watch a 20-minute show of “Thiruvasagam Symphony” by Ilaiyaraaja. Fifty Oduvars will recite Thiruvasagam as he enters the temple.
Thirty-eight Aadheenams from Tamil Nadu are expected to join the festival.
