Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit TUTICORIN tonight and elaborate arrangements are being made to welcome him. He is expected to arrive by a special aircraft around 8 PM.
During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the newly expanded TUTICORIN Airport, upgraded at a cost of ₹381 crore. The
Ā airport now features a longer runway of 3,000 meters and can accommodate five aircraft at a time, bringing it up to international standards.
The Prime Minister will also launch and inaugurate development projects worth around ₹4,500 crore during the event organized at the airport premises.
Strict security measures have been put in place. Around 1,000 personnel from the SPG, central forces, and Tamil Nadu police will be deployed. A five-layer security arrangement will ensure the Prime Minister’s safety. Coastal police and marine security teams have also been stationed in nearby areas.
