Veteran filmmaker and multifaceted artist T. Rajendar has announced that his 1983 cult classic Uyirullavarai Usha will be re-released in theatres this September. The film, which marks its 42nd anniversary this year, holds special significance for Rajendar as it was his first project after marriage and was named after his wife, Usha. Rajendar has also launched TR Talkies, a company dedicated to remastering and upgrading his classic films to meet contemporary technical standards. Following the re-release of Uyirullavarai Usha, he plans to bring other films from his extensive career back to the big screen. Known for his versatility, Rajendar began his career with Oru Thalai Ragam in 1980 and went on to deliver hits such as Rail Payanangalil (1981), Raagam Thedum Pallavi (1982), and Uravai Kaatha Kili (1984), among others.
