Senior IPS officer G Venkataraman, Director General of Police (Administration), has been appointed as the acting DGP and Head of Police Force in Tamil Nadu. He takes over after Shankar Jiwal retired from service.Jiwal has been made Chairman of the newly formed Fire Commission, a day after stepping down as DGP.
In another change, Vinit Dev Wankhede, DGP (Headquarters), has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Ltd. He replaces Shailesh Kumar Yadav, who also retired.
The appointments were announced by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dheeraj Kumar.
