The romantic comedy Kushi, starring Vijay and Jyothika, is turning 25 this May. To celebrate, the film will be re-released in Tamil Nadu from September 25. The re-release is handled by Sakthi Film Factory, the same company that brought back Vijay’s hit Ghilli.Directed by SJ Suryah, Kushi tells the story of Shiva (Vijay) and Jenny (Jyothika). Fate brings them together despite plans that would have kept them apart. They become friends, which grows into love. But a heated argument creates a rift, and the story explores whether they reunite or part ways forever.
The film was a big hit when it first released, with fans loving the performances of the leads. Every song in the soundtrack became a chartbuster and remains popular today. Besides Vijay and Jyothika, the cast includes Vijayakumar, Vivek, Nagendra Prasad, Nizhalgal Ravi, Beena Banerjee, and Janaki Sabesh.
Kushi was produced by AM Rathnam of Sri Surya Movies. The technical team includes Jeeva (cinematography), B Lenin and VT Vijayan (editing), and Deva (music). The re-release is expected to bring nostalgia and excitement for fans of the classic romantic comedy.
