Former Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai has accused the DMK of endangering lives through illegal liquor sales. In a statement, he said DMK ministers run liquor factories that supply to the state-owned TASMAC shops. At the same time, their party workers are selling illicit liquor in villages, putting many lives at risk.
He pointed out that in Erode district, DMK ward councillor and youth wing functionary Sureshkumar was recently caught selling illicit liquor.
Annamalai said Tamil Nadu has already faced repeated tragedies and heavy loss of lives due to such incidents. Yet, the DMK has not learned any lesson from the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy.
He added that whether it was Maroor Raja, Govindaraj, or now Sureshkumar, a common link is that all belonged to the DMK and were involved in illicit liquor trade.
āDMK has successfully pushed Tamil Nadu backward by 15 years,ā Annamalai charged.
