The 11th edition of the CII AutoServe and AutoTech Expo kicked off in Chennai, focusing on “Driving the Next Decade: Innovation, Integration, and Intelligence in the Automotive Aftermarket” and “Accelerating Innovation: Smart, Sustainable, and Software-Driven Mobility.” The three-day event brought together senior leaders from government, industry, and academia to discuss the future of India’s automotive aftermarket ecosystem.
Dr. T. Prabhushankar, MD of Metropolitan Transport Corporation (Chennai), emphasized Tamil Nadu’s strong manufacturing base and entrepreneur-friendly environment, calling for standardization, digitization, and innovation to make the aftermarket more organized and sustainable. Speakers including P. Ravichandran, Debashis Neogi, Ramashankar Pandey, and Rakesh Kher highlighted rapid advancements in autonomous driving, EVs, telematics, AI, and automation as transformative forces for the sector. The aftermarket, already worth USD 13 billion in 2023 and projected to reach USD 21.6 billion by 2030, plays a crucial role in employment, public service, and mobility. The expo features over 75 exhibitors, live demonstrations, and panel discussions on cutting-edge technologies, attracting more than 12,000 business visitors from India and abroad.
This event underlined the need for collaboration between industry, government, and entrepreneurs to build a future-ready, organized, and technology-driven automotive ecosystem that supports both innovation and livelihoods.
