EPS urges govt to act fast as heavy rains expected

AIADMK General Secretary and Opposition Leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has urged the Tamil Nadu government to take urgent steps as heavy rains are expected across several districts. In a statement, he said that a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring very heavy rainfall to north coastal districts, including Chennai, and also to the Delta region. He also asked the public to stay alert and follow the safety instructions issued by the Weather Department and local authorities. EPS further told AIADMK party workers to remain prepared and extend all help to people in rain-affected areas.
