Tiruppur, Oct 30: During a felicitation event held in Tiruppur, Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed confidence that exports from the region to the United States would soon double. Addressing concerns over recent challenges faced by Tiruppurâs knitwear exporters due to increased US import tariffs, he assured that constructive dialogue and continuous government efforts were underway to resolve the issues.Radhakrishnan noted that the Union government maintained close communication with US officials, including President Donald Trump, to safeguard the interests of Indian exporters. He praised Tiruppurâs entrepreneurs for their resilience and hard work, emphasizing that consistent effort would yield rewards.
Reflecting on his political journey, Radhakrishnan shared how his involvement in politics started early with student leadership roles and continued through various alliances, including working with parties like DMK, AIADMK, and the Communist Party. He underlined the importance of perseverance, discipline, and dedication in achieving success and leadership.
The Vice President also highlighted the global recognition India is gaining for its leadership and economic progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He commended Tiruppur as a shining example of India’s industrious spirit and urged business communities not to lose hope, reminding them that continuous hard work is essential for societal upliftment and national prosperity.
Radhakrishnanâs visit to Tiruppur, his hometown, was his first after assuming office as Vice President, where he expressed pride in returning to a land known for enterprise and discipline. He encouraged unity and perseverance among citizens to realize the national vision of a developed India by 2047.
