Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations will operate 860 special buses statewide from tomorrow (December 12) through Sunday (December 14) to handle anticipated weekend travel demand from Chennai and other hubs

From Chennai’s Kilambakkam terminus, 320 buses depart Friday to Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur, with 310 on Saturday. Koyambedu adds 55 buses each day to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, while 100 specials run from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations.

Madhavaram sees 20 specials on Friday and Saturday. Over 7,800 passengers pre-booked for Friday, 3,500 for Saturday, and 8,300 for Sunday, with numbers expected to rise—book via www.tnstc.in or the app to skip queues. Sunday returns to Chennai and Bengaluru from districts will feature demand-based specials, monitored by staff at all depots.
