Dhaka, Feb 2: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced a brand-new domestic tournament titled the Odommo Bangladesh T20 Cup during the T20 World Cup window.The tournament was formally unveiled through a press release issued late on January 31, confirming that matches will be played on February 5, 6 and 7, with the final scheduled for February 9.
A total of three teams will compete in the competition – Dhumketu XI, Durbar XI and Duronto XI. National team stars will lead the sides, with Litton Das captaining Dhumketu XI, Najmul Hossain Shanto in charge of Durbar XI, and Akbar Ali named captain of Duronto XI.
The coaching line-ups have also been confirmed. Mohammad Salahuddin will serve as head coach of Dhumketu XI, assisted by Mohammad Ashraful. Mizanur Rahman Babul has been appointed head coach of Durbar XI, with Tushar Imran as his assistant. Meanwhile, Hannan Sarkar will lead the coaching staff of Duronto XI, with Rajil Saleh working as assistant coach.BCB has announced a total prize money of BDT 2.5 crore for the tournament. Ticket prices have been set to ensure fan accessibility, starting from BDT 100.
