Chennai, Apr 8:

Southern Railway has announced special train services from Chennai to handle the increased passenger rush during Tamil New Year and Vishu festivities.

According to officials, the special trains will connect Chennai with key destinations including Tirunelveli, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Thoothukudi. These services will operate on select dates in April to accommodate the seasonal surge in travel.

The initiative aims to ease congestion on regular trains and provide additional travel options for passengers heading to their hometowns during the festive period.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to check schedules in advance and book tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience, as demand is expected to be high.
