A fire broke out at a grocery warehouse operated by Blinkit in T. Nagar, Chennai, causing extensive damage to stored items.
According to initial reports, the blaze is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit, which rapidly spread within the facility. Fire and rescue services rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Officials said goods worth around ₹40 lakh were destroyed in the incident. The damaged stock included vegetables and other essential grocery items stored in the warehouse.
No casualties were reported, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and assess safety measures at the facility.
