Chennai, June 1:

GRT Hotels & Resorts organised “Walkathon 2026” on Sunday to mark World No Tobacco Day, reinforcing its commitment to wellness and mindful living. Held across its network of 22 fully smoke-free hotels spanning five states, the initiative saw an enthusiastic and synchronized participation of nearly 1,500 people, including guests, staff, families, and local community members.

The 3-km walk was conducted under the group’s “GReaT Being” programme, aimed at promoting holistic health and sustainable lifestyles. The event aligned with the brand’s philosophy of “Soulful Hospitality,” encouraging participants to adopt healthier habits while raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use.

GRT Hotels & Resorts CEO Vikram Cotah said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to fostering environments that prioritise well-being and conscious living. Through high-visibility campaigns and active community engagement, the walkathon served as a strong platform to advocate for a tobacco-free future and promote long-term health among stakeholders.
