Chennai, June 18:
Amazon India has announced a major expansion of its ‘Amazon Now’ service with the rollout of over 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers, aimed at delivering a wider range of products to customers within minutes.
The new large-format centers will offer four times more selection, covering categories such as electronics, fashion, groceries, beauty, furniture and more. This expansion builds on Amazon Now’s presence in 100 cities supported by over 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers, further strengthening its fast-delivery network.
Senior executive Abhinav Singh said the initiative is driven by investments in technology, AI-powered inventory planning and infrastructure, helping bring products closer to customers for quicker delivery. Cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad and Mumbai will see phased rollouts.
The move is part of Amazon’s ₹2,800 crore investment to enhance operations and delivery systems, along with expanding “Ashray” rest centers for delivery associates, reinforcing its focus on speed, convenience and customer experience ahead of Prime Day 2026.
