Chennai, July 4:
Amid a politically charged atmosphere in Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin has left for London today along with his family. The visit comes at a time when the state is witnessing intense political developments, including shifts within alliances, resignations by opposition MLAs, and ongoing legal proceedings involving former ministers.
The primary purpose of the trip, however, is a family occasion. Stalin’s grandson, Inbanidhi — son of Udhayanidhi Stalin — is pursuing higher studies in sports development in Manchester. His graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place this month, and Stalin is travelling to attend the event.
Following the ceremony, Stalin is expected to stay in London for about 10 days for a brief break. He is likely to return to Chennai after July 20.
While the visit has sparked political discussions, it is officially described as a personal trip centered around a family milestone.
In his message to party cadres before leaving, Stalin said, ‘We are here. We will return!” — this is the voice I hear from party cadres at Anna Arivalayam every day.’
‘Hundreds of cadres who visit the party headquarters daily bring renewed energy and motivation. Their unwavering support continues to strengthen my resolve and commitment.’
Absorbing the sentiments of these cadres, and as we begin planning the journey of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for the next hundred years, I will be leaving for an overseas visit for a duration of two weeks. Even while I am abroad, my heart will remain at Anna Arivalayam, he said.
