Chennai, July 14:

In a key bureaucratic reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has placed senior IAS officer P. Umanath under compulsory wait and appointed Shilpa Prabhakar Satish as the new Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC).

A Government Order issued by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar said Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, who was serving as Commissioner of Labour, has been placed at the disposal of TNCSC for appointment as its Managing Director, replacing Umanath.

While the order did not specify a fresh posting for Umanath, officials indicated that he has been kept under compulsory wait pending further assignment.

The reshuffle also involved changes in other key departments. H. Krishnanunni, Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation (TNMSC), has been transferred and posted as Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, replacing S. P. Amrith. In a reciprocal move, Amrith has been appointed as Managing Director of TNMSC.

The government noted that the deputation terms of both Shilpa Prabhakar Satish and S. P. Amrith, who are on foreign service, will continue under existing government orders.
