Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Indian market, outlining an ambitious growth roadmap through 2030 with a strong focus on electrification, SUVs and enhanced competitiveness. The company stated that India ranks among Hondaās top three priority markets globally and will play a pivotal role in driving its future expansion.
As part of its strategy, Honda will introduce a robust pipeline of products tailored to evolving consumer preferences. The future portfolio will include a mix of global SUVs and India-centric models, with plans to enter the sub-4-metre SUV and mid-size SUV segments from 2028 onwards. These additions are expected to strengthen the companyās presence in high-growth segments and expand its customer base.
A key highlight of the roadmap is Hondaās electrification push. The company announced that its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) for India will be launched in the second half of FY 2026ā27. Road testing of the upcoming model has already commenced, marking a significant milestone in Hondaās transition towards sustainable mobility solutions in the country.
HCIL also showcased its refreshed product lineup, including the New Honda City, which features a sportier design, upgraded premium interiors and advanced safety technologies. Equipped with Honda SENSING ADAS, the sedan offers features such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, along with both petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options. The model continues to build on the legacy of one of Hondaās most successful nameplates in India.
In addition, the company introduced the All-New Honda ZR-V, a premium hybrid SUV making its India debut. Built on the concept of āBrilliant Liberation,ā the ZR-V combines sporty performance with refined styling and advanced hybrid technology. Powered by a 2.0-litre sports hybrid system, the SUV delivers a powerful yet efficient driving experience, while offering a host of premium features, including a digital instrument cluster, wireless connectivity and a Bose premium sound system.
Honda also highlighted the importance of regional markets such as Tamil Nadu, which continues to be a strong contributor to its overall sales performance. The company noted that customer response in the state has remained consistently positive, particularly for models like the Honda City, Honda Elevate and Honda Amaze, reflecting strong brand trust and loyalty.
