BJP leader Nainar Nagendran on Thursday questioned alleged irregularities in a Rs 42-crore tender linked to the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Department and sought clarity from the State government.
Raising the issue, Nagendran questioned whether the alleged irregularities reflected the “administrative change” promised by the ruling establishment.
The BJP leader alleged that the tender process required closer scrutiny and called for transparency in government contracting and expenditure.
His remarks added to the political pressure on the government over the management of public funds and the functioning of key departments.
The issue is expected to trigger further debate, with the opposition likely to demand details regarding the tender process, eligibility conditions, bidding procedures and the basis on which the contract was processed.
