Heavy rains battered Chennai and neighbouring districts, with very heavy spell at times as the remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, which had already weakened into a Deep Depression and then as Depression, further lost steam and became a Well Marked Low Pressure area and persisted in the same region promising more showers.
