Heavy rains battered Chennai and neighbouring districts, with very heavy spell at times as the remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, which had already weakened into a Deep Depression and then as Depression, further lost steam and became a Well Marked Low Pressure area and persisted in the same region promising more showers.Chennai and suburbs continued to receive heavy spells yesterday causing hardship to office goers
as the weather remained chilly, even as several low lying areas continued to remain under thick seets
of water and rain water entering several households in suburban areas.
Though the rains are likely to abate today Met office said heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places
over Interior Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri and south coastal Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and
Ramanathapuram districts.
