Three policemen rewarded for nabbing 3 mobile-snatchers


Chennai:  City Commissioner of Police, A K Viswanathan, appreciated the efforts of three policemen who apprehended  mobile phone snatchers in different parts of the city last night.

In the first incident, repeat offenders Srinivasan, 24, and Sathish Kumar, 21, attempted to flee after snatching away a mobile phone from a woman at Ambattur Industrial Estate on Tuesday.

Then, grade-1 constable Ezhilarasan and FOP Gnanasambanthan caught sight of the robbery and chased them on their motorcycle.

The duo was handed over to Ambattur Industrial Estate police who had registered a complaint in connection with it.
In another incident, the armed reserve personnel Saravana Kumar witnessed a similar mobile snatching incident while returning home at CIT Nagar in Nandanam.
He brought the culprits to book after chasing them on his motorcycle.
The accused, Praveen and Bagat Singh, were handed over at the Saidapet police station.
This morning, Viswanathan appreciated the efforts of the three policemen and also rewarded them.
