Teenager kills aunt in Aminjikarai


Chennai: Angered at his aunt chiding him for loving her daughter, a 10th standard student killed her in Aminjikarai. She was martyred by the boy for having scolded him for loving her daughter who is studying in eighth standard.

According to police, the deceased identified as Tamilselvi (35), wife of one Sankara Subbu, was residing at Vellala Street in Aminjikarai. She was found unconscious with a cut in her forearm on Thursday. She was rushed to hospital immediately where she was declared dead.

A special team of police led by Anna Nagar Assistant Commissioner Sudhakar began investigation.

They checked the CCTV foorage and found that Sankara Subbu’s nephew visited the house on the day. He was immediately taken to custody.

He confessed to the crime with police during interrogation. He said he was in love with Tamilselvi’s daughter and upon coming to know about it, Tamilsevi chided him and hit him too. Angered at her act, the boy suffocated her to death using a teddy bear and also cut her forearm and left the place. Police handed him over to reformatory school in Kellys.
