Chennai: Search continues for the second day to rescue a 22-year-old youngster who jumped into Adyar river, after police seized his two-wheeler for drunken driving.
According to police, the man identified as Radhakrishnan (22) was returning in his two-wheeler after attending a temple festival. When he reached Adyar overbridge, he was stopped by police. They found out that he was in an inebriated condition and seized his vehicle. Radhakrishnan did not have driving license too.
He threatened police that he will jump into Adyar river of his vehicle is not handed over to him. In a fit of rage, he jumped inside the water body. Fire and Rescue personnel immediately rushed to the spot and a search was conducted. The personnel said the youngster has not been traced yet.
