Chennai: Young athletes proved their mettle, thanks to Madras Regimental Centre at Wellington, near Ooty.
The mini-marathon organised by Madras Regimental Centre on 11 August, to mark the 72nd Independence Day celebrations, saw a participation of 300 students of various schools of Wellington.
The mini marathon was flagged off and terminated at Thangaraj Stadium. The aim behind organising the rally was to aspire the young minds to join the armed forces and to make them aware of the need to have physical fitness for a healthy lifestyle.
