Chennai: There is no shortage of drama in the State’s political scenario and spicing things up recently is the meeting between Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran.

While both leaders have been making contradictory statements about the purpose of the meeting, it has been confirmed that the meeting happened, which is not a good sign for Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Understanding the situation, it is reportedly said EPS held a crucial meeting with senior leaders of the party during which the ongoing tussle between Dhinakaran and Panneerselvam and the next move to tackle the issue were discussed.

The meeting has come a day after Palaniswami met Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.

He is also set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi 8 October.

It is also reportedly said the merger of TTV and EPS factions is on the cards and this is said to happen after sidelining Panneerselvam.

An AIADMK cadre, on condition of anonymity, said OPS supporters are not happy with their leader as they have not been given prominence as promised before the merger.

ā€œIn spite of having 12 MLAs, only two ministerial postings were given to the Panneerselvam faction. It was said OPS supporters were convinced at the time saying that they will be given prominent party posts. This also did not happen, disappointing the cadres. Now the news about the meeting has created more confusion,ā€ he said.

TAMILISAI ADDS CONFUSION

While OPS and TTV have been blaming the opposite faction for arranging the meeting, BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan today said Dhinakaran sent messengers to meet BJP leaders which was denied. She also said Palaniswami’s meeting with Narendra Modi will be constructive.

DHINAKARAN MEETS SASIKALA

Amid all these recent happenings, Dhinakaran today met deposed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala at the Parapana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru during which he is said to have discussed the recent developments.
