If one writes a list of promising names in Tamil cinema, at least two-thirds of it would be part of Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming film ‘Petta‘ starring Rajinikanth.
After Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, Sanath and Megha Akash, the latest one to join in the cast is director Mahendran who made classics like Mullum Malarum and Johnny with Rajinikanth. In various interviews, Rajinikanth had mentioned that Mahendran is his most favourite director in Tamil cinema.
After playing the antagonist in Theri, Mahendran was seen playing important roles in films like Nimir, Mr Chandramouli and he will also be seen in Vijay Sethupathis upcoming film ‘Seethakathi‘.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music for ‘Petta‘ and the shoot of the film is likely to be wrapped up in November.
Currently, the makers are canning important scenes in Varanasi with tight security as a miscreants leaked the shooting spot video on the Internet.
