Chennai: Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore in the city has started Vivekananda Book bank as a part of their charitable services in the field of education to help the economically marginalized students of engineering by lending academic books.
Students can borrow both standard and local author books of their syllabus and retain them until their examinations.
At present, about 300 students have been benefited by this not-for-profit project. The book bank is said to have a collection of 9,800 books.
The Book bank facilities are extended to the students of electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, computer science and engineering, information technology, mechanical, civil engineering and computer applications (BCA and MCA).
