Chennai: Top seed Divesh Gahlot faced moments of uncertainty early on before outgunning Aman Dahiya 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-2 in the under-16 third round of the Fenesta Open Junior National Tennis Championship on Wednesday.

There are moments when the top players get overawed by the situation or get bogged down by pressure. It could have been both for Divesh though he regained control fast.

“I played a tough match and Aman practices with me. I am hoping for the best in my next set of matches. It’s my dream to win the finals and I am going to work hard, play hard to see this dream come true,” said Divesh.

Second seed Sushant Dabas churned out a regulation win against Rick Choudhary (6-1, 6-1) and did not break a sweat. “The experience was really good playing on court number 1. Even though my opponent is a good player I think I played better than him. My strategy was straight to keep more balls inside the court, serve well and I am looking forward to the quarter finals,” said Sushant.

In the girls’ section, top seed Bhakti Parwani almost made a hash of it against Aditi Are before pulling off a great win in a long-match. Bhakti won 3-6,6-2,7-6(12/10) and was lucky she could advance in the under-16 section. In the boys’ under-14 section, Udit Gogoi coaste to a 6-1, 6-3 win against Yuvan Nandal.
