Chennai: Fourteen-year-old Shriya Vishnuram, a student of PSBB Nungambakkam presented one hour ‘Mikeless Kutcheri’ at the concluding day of the 10th edition of three-day Navarathri Kutcheri in the park series organised by Sundaram Finance, at the Nageswara Rao Park, Mylapore, this morning.
Shriya, who is learning music from T R Vasudevan was accompanied on the violin by T Kishore, and on the mirdangam by G N Bhuvanasundaran.
Applauded all the way by an informal park audience comprising of morning walkers and kutcheri regulars, Shriya presented compositions that included Bala Murali Krishna’s Amma Ananda Dayini (Gambheeranattai/Adhi), Muthuswami Dikshithar’s Kamalaam Baambhajare (Kalyani/Adhi) and Madurai Sreenivasan’s Karunai Deivamey (Sindhu Bhairavi /Adhi).
Sundaram Finance Ltd senior general manager C Muralidharan presented certificates and mementos to the artistes.
Sundaram Finance has also been organising monthly Kutcheri in the Park on the first Sunday of every month since February 2007. Around 1,200 children have presented concerts at the Kutcheri in the Park.
