Chennai: A man who was brutally attacked in his house at Ambattur by a gang of four men succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
According to police, the victim, Mahesh (32), a driver from Gnanamoorthy Nagar, was riding his two-wheeler in the locality on 6 November evening, when one of the accused Balachandar (32), a resident of Menambedu came in another two-wheeler in the opposite direction.
Mahesh diverted his vehicle as Balachandar almost hit him. Subsequently, the duo engaged in a tussle and Mahesh verbally abused Balachandar.
Infuriated, Balanchadar left the spot and later went to Mahesh’s house along with three of his friends – S Dinesh (22), M Sathish (23) and S Sasi (22). The armed group brutally attacked Mahesh in his house and fled the spot.
Mahesh’s family members rushed him to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. However, he passed away last evening.
A police complaint was lodged by Mahesh’s brother Manikandan. Police said, the four accused were in an inebriated condition when they attacked him.
Ambattur police registered a case and arrested all of them and remanded them under judicial custody.
