Juvenile gives slip at police station, cops bring him back


Chennai: A 16-year-old boy, who was brought to Teynampet police station on grounds of ‘suspicion’, gave the police a slip, sending police for a search all over again. He was eventually brought back.

The boy, who is studying class 7, is said to be a regular offender. Speaking to News Today, a police said, “He lives in Kannagi Nagar, Semmencherry. Last night he was found roaming in K P Das Road, Teynampet. We found him with three mobile phones and cash which he stole from pavement dwellers while they were asleep.”

The boy is also accused of stealing two bikes. “We made him sit in the police station with a woman police. However, he slowly walked out of the station and fled to his house. We brought him back again,” police said. Police said in the past he has had a stint at Kelly’s home for several robbery cases.
