Chennai: The Indian brand CelluGen, through its vertical Mycord, received recognition at the 10th annual conference on Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine held at Switzerland in October, for its innovative concept of ‘Family Cord Pool Blood Bank’.
“The idea behind the concept of ‘Family Cord Blood Pool Bank’ is to create some kind of balance between insufficient cord blood units in the public banks and the utility of stored blood units in private banks for allogeneic use with HLA typing,” said CelluGen director Lalit Jaiswal.
The scientific and medical fraternity at the conference applauded the effort of CelluGen in redefining the family cord blood banking industry to help treat blood disorders with approved stem cell transplant through the concept of ‘Pool Banking’, a press release said.
