Chennai: Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit today inaugurated the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund collection by contributing Rs 25,000.
A Raj Bhavan release here said the Governor, while addressing the State through All India Radio and Doordarshan, remembered the sacrifices made by the personnel of the Armed Forces in protecting the country’ s territorial integrity.
He called upon the people of Tamilnadu to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund to supplement the government’s efforts in the welfare activities for ex-servicemen and their dependents.
Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, R Rajagopal, Principal Secretary to the Government Public Department, Dr P Senthil Kumar, Special Secretary to the Government (Public) Department, Mythili K Rajendran, and Chennai Collector A Shanmuga Sundram were present.
