Chennai resident’s short film ‘Ennangal’ garners praise

‘Ennangal’, a short film directed by Dhinesh Kumar, a resident of Madambakkam, has caught the attention of
many.

The movie that has been made based on the reverse screenplay technique, starts in the present and travels back in time till 1969, and ends in the future.

Sources said, the script showcases the desire of a director to make a movie based on a story he has written, and how he is not able to do it due to various reasons.

Speaking to News Today, Dhinesh said, “The idea of the movie came up three years ago. I was not able to proceed with it at that time as I did not have the required funds. Also, I was working on another film – ‘Life Of An Ambulance Driver’. Only a year ago, I was able to generate the resources needed for the movie.”

He further said, he did not compromise on anything as the movie travels in time. “I ensured that all the properties belonging to that period were present in the screen, which will give audience the real retro feel. The flick has everything including humour, sentiment, song, love, betrayal on par with feature films,” he added.

Talking about his future ventures, he said, “I am working on a full-fledged story for a feature film.”
