Photographers at Arignar Anna Zoological Park.

Ramesh Baalaji
Chennai: Around 60 people attended a two-day wildlife photography workshop held at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park on 22 and 23 December.

The workshop conducted by first Indian woman wildlife photographer Rathika Ramaswamy dealt with basic photography, techniques in capturing animals, birds life, habitat and where it can be found in Tamilnadu.

There was a field visit on second day. “I have conducted classes for clubs, but this is my fist workshop at Arignar Anna Zoological Park and also the first in Chennai for public,” said Rathika.

“I am working in healthcare department. I am interested in wildlife photography and for emerging photographers, the workshop threw light on many aspects,” said Aravind, one of the participant.

“Rathika is one of the photographers whom I admire a lot. I have been following her work for quite some time and it is really a honour to meet her. Zoo authorities were supportive and we visited a few special places that were not allowed for general public,” said Dyanesh, a student photographer from Bengaluru.
