Chennai: Around 120 less fortunate children went shopping as part of Christmas and New Year celebrations organised by Chennai-based NGO Dr John Joseph Foundation along with Starmark group.
According to a press release, the children from various homes gathered at the Starmark outlet, Phoenix Mall, Velacheri recently. Each child was permitted to buy any gift of their interest for Rs 1,000.
Children were confused what to pick and what to leave. Finally they loaded their baskets with Dairy Milk bars, toy scooters, stationery kits, funskool toys and much more. Lunch and dinner was arranged for them, the release said.
