Amaravati: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy became the first politician, in recent years, to undertake a foot march of over 3,500 km. On Wednesday, he completed his a year-long ‘paadayatra‘ across Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan wound up the Praja Sankalpa Paadayatra, launched on 6 November 2017, at Itchapuram town in Srikakulam district, bordering Odisha, by unveiling a 91-feet pylon resembling the Eiffel Tower, with a dome at the top resembling the Parliament House

Over the course of the paadayatra, he met over two crore people and engaged with various stakeholders like general public, media, party workers, influencers, NRIs, students, youth, women, senior citizens and farmers, the YSRC announced after the completion of the yatra.
Jagan wanted to fulfill the YSRCs nine main promises ‘Navratnalu’ intended for the benefit of all sections of the society, the party release added. In 2003, in the then united Andhra Pradesh, his father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had undertaken a 1475-km foot march to capture power in 2004.
