Jaganmohan Reddy

Hyderabad: YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy said that it was necessary for regional parties to unite to highlight the injustice done to them and welcomed the efforts by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to form a non-BJP non-Congress Federal Front.

The proposed national platform initiated by KCR invites all states and regional parties to come forward with support from their MPs.

Reddy and KCR’s son and Telangana Rashtriya Samithi working President K T Rama Rao took part in a joint press conference and said they will discuss at length on how to take forward this initiative in future.

Rama Rao also confirmed this and said like-minded forces would come together. He also informed the gathering that his father would soon leave for Andhra Pradesh to hold talks with Jagan Mohan Reddy and discuss all the issues with him.

Rao expressed confidence that like minded forces, who believe in strengthening regional parties and states, would come together.

On 10 January, KCR met Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as part of his efforts towards federal front of regional parties.

Rao had also met Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik and Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and sought their support.

AICC spokesperson Sravan Dasoju, reacting to the meeting, said the two were political opportunists and that they had came together to protect the larger interests of BJP.
