Chennai: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever LTD (HUL) has reported a nine per cent year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 1,444 crore for the December quarter. The company had reported Rs 1,326 crore profit in the year-ago period.
Sales for the quarter rose 12 per cent to Rs 9,357 crore. Domestic consumer sales were up 13 per cent on a yearly basis, the company said in a regulator filing.
EBITDA for the quarter came in at Rs 2,046 crore, up 22 per cent over Rs 1,680 crore in the December quarter last year. EBITDA margin improved by 170 basis points to 21.4 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
