Chennai: K Sangeetha Priya, a student of Dr MGR-Janaki College for Women, has been selected to represent the State, to showcase the cultural pride in Republic Day parade in New Delhi 26 January.
Based on her performance in sports, cultural events and IQ, the NSS Cell of University of Madras selected and got her trained in three days. Subsequently, among 40 students from Tamilnadu, only 16 were selected to participated in Delhi parade.
In addition, S Prethshya, student of the same college has been chosen for National Integration Camp organised by Central Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
“Being a NSS cadet, Sangeetha Priya has contributed a lot for the upliftment of an adopted village under the special camp for the past three years. The National Integration Camp is conducted annually for the best NSS Volunteer of the year and is yet another example to groom holistic skills,” said Dr MGR-Janaki College for Women correspondent Latha Rajendran.
