Chennai: On 4 February, News Today carried a report on the newly-opened geriatric animal care ward at Blue Cross of India, Guindy.

Responding to the report, Blue Cross of India co-founder and chairman emeritus S Chinny Krishna wrote a letter thanking News Today Editor T R Jawahar.

In the letter, he mentioned, “As you are aware, it was your news report in 1994 that drew the attention of Selvi J Jayalalithaa, the then Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, to our urgent need for land to continue our services to animals. Immediately on seeing your report, she called the undersigned and promised to give us some land. To avoid delay, we offered to buy the land if it could be given at a special price which the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu agreed to.”

Chinny Krishna also extended an invitation to News Today Editor to visit the Blue Cross of India centre at Guindy.
