Hyderabad: The Telangana police yesterday arrested three people in Nizamabad district of Telangana under sedition charges.

The accused had allegedly posted a video with anti-national and pro-Pakistan slogans after the Pulwama terror attack.

Two of the accused were identified to be from Uttar Pradesh and one was a local resident. One was a driver and the other two were working in a saloon. The arrest was based on a complaint by a person who had noticed the video posted on the social media after Pulwama attack by the Jaish-e-mohammed group. The suicide bombing killed 40 CRPF men on 14 February.

According to media reports, a case under IPC sections 124A (sedition), 153 A (promoting enmity) and 505 (2) (public mischief) was registered against the trio. Further investigations were on.
