Pact to help children with congenital heart disease

Chennai: With the motive of aiding underprivileged children with congenital heart defects, Rotary Club of Meenambakkam in association with Genesis Foundation pledged to save 100 lives by funding for surgeries.

Rotary international director, Basker Chockalingam at an event held here Monday, made the formal announcement and stated that the deed would be completed by hospitals – Sooriya, MMM and MIOT Hospitals – by June this year.

According to a press release, “The pact is the coming together of two organisations tirelessly working towards brighter and healthier future of India. Rotary Club of Meenambakkam of Rotary District 3232 has been working in the fields of health, educational, vocational, and international services for the past 36 years and Genesis Foundation has dedicated itself to saving children suffering from congenital heart disorders from last 20 years.”

Genesis Foundation founder-trustee, Jyoti Sagar, said, “Our constant endeavour is to promote the cause of saving little hearts and giving them a new chance at life.”
