
Visakhapatnam: A woman was found murdered at her house yesterday and 200 gram gold chain and ornaments have reportedly been stolen. The deceased has been identified as Bhogasamudram Vijaya Reddy, a local Congress woman worker.
According to media reports, Vijaya lived in an apartment in NGGO’s Colony with her husband B. Vishnu Reddy, an officer at a public sector bank. The couple’s daughter lives in Hyderabad.
Based on , on Monday evening when Vijaya’s husband came home he found the house locked and so stayed at his neighbour’s. He had earlier received a message from Vijaya’s phone that she was going out for work and would return late.
The next morning when she didn’t return home, he suspected something amiss and opened the door with a spare key, he found his wife lying dead in the bathroom and there were several cut marks on her body and on the hands.
Initial investigation revealed that a man and woman from Bheemili contacted Vijaya over selling her flat for Rs 1.30 crore. The CCTV cameras in the apartment were not functional and the police are probing various angles.
