Chennai: G Maharaja (5/18) produced a stunning spell to propel Madras Aryan Club to a four-wicket win over Book Sellers XI in the TNCA Fourth Division ‘A’ league game here.

Batting first, Book Sellers surrendered meekly for 103 in 34.5 overs thanks to Maharaja’s five-wicket haul.

Madras Aryan Club did lose six wickets in the chase, but got home in 24.1 overs.

In another match, B Bharathiraja (5/79) bagged five wickets as Triplicane Friends United Cricket Club defeated Gandhi Nagar Starlets Club by four runs in a tightly-contested match.

IV DIVISION ‘A’: Madras Emmanuel CC 201 for 8 in 50 overs (I John Baptist 78*, Shanmugam Selvam 3/40) lost to Park Town RC 204 for 2 in 45.1 overs (C B Pasupathan 106*, M Rushil Kumar 62*)

Triplicane Friends United CC 215 for 6 in 50 overs (C Sakthi Santhosh 74, B Arun Kumar 3/57) beat Gandhi Nagar Starlets Club 211 in 50 overs (B Arun Kumar 71, B Bharathiraja 5/79)

Book Sellers XI 103 in 34.5 overs (G Maharaja 5/18, R Deepak 3/24) lost to Madras Aryan Club 107 for 6 in 24.1 overs (S Somasundaram 40, M A Stephen Raj 3/45)

State Bank of India RC 93 in 33.5 overs (S Arunchalam 4/30) lost to Perambur Club 96 for 1 in 17.5 overs (P Arun 50*)
