Kottayam:Â A 40-year-old Mahout died after his elephant owned by a hospital group in Kerala laid down on him crushing him to death yesterday.
The deceased Arun Panicker had ordered his elephant lie down but it mistook his instruction and laid on its side on top of him pinning him to the ground.
As a result, Panicker died on the spot and his body was sent for a postmortem. The elephant is owned by a hospital group in the city.
