Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman unable to bear harassment by her husband and in-laws committed suicide by jumping down the fifth floor of her apartment yesterday.
The women identified as P Niveditha a fashion designer got married to an IT professional eight months ago. Her in-laws had allegedly harassed her asking for money.
According to media reports, her parents had visited her place to resolve the issue, but in vain. Following her death, Niveditha’s parents lodged a complaint saying her husband and his kin had harassed her for additional dowry, which drove her to death.
A case of dowry death has been registered and the woman’s husband and his parents have been taken into custody, said media reports.
