Chennai: “Before 6th the outcome in respect of inking poll pacts with all parties (potential allies) will be announced,” said AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam yesterday.
Even as uncertainty is prevailing over Vijayakanth-led DMDK joining the AIADMK alliance for the upcoming general elections, Panneerselvam who called on DMDK chief Vijayakanth at his residence yesterday announced that the poll deals with potential allies would be concluded ahead of a rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 6 March.
“Either today or tomorrow, a good decision will be taken and announced,” he said. When questioned about the number of constituencies and the seats to be contested by the DMDK, he said it will be made known in a day or two.
According to media reports, the Deputy Chief Minister along with senior party leader D Jayakumar visited Vijayakanth and enquired about his health and wished him well.
He added a grand rally would be organised near Vandalur by the BJP and its ally and it would be presided by Prime Minsiter Modi. On 19 February, the AIADMK had stitched an alliance with the PMK and the BJP.
