‘My Bungalow, My Rules’ – Ewww.. A vagina comedy? So irritating to hear, huh? That’s right, finally we have started celebrating our own body and fighting for our rights over our imposed chastity. How in the world would this be acceptable?
The recent release of 90 ML drew a lot of bitter criticism for its adult comedy and intimidating scenes. There are two kinds of people: One who appreciates new ideas, understands movies based on its certification and stuff; and the other who hates ‘A’ rated movies in total saying that it would ‘affect’ society’s behaviour.
But now there is a third category. The one who can enjoy movies like Trisha Illana Nayantara, Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuthu, Ivanukku Engayo Machham Irukku and the one who turns into ‘Oru Naal CM’ when movies like 90 ML are released.
So, this is how the review goes – After watching Iruttu Arayil... – ‘Watch movie as a movie. It is an ‘A’ certified movie.’ And this is how the review goes for 90 ML – This is a monstrous movie that would psychologically, physically, economically, politically, drastically affect the mindset of youth.
The irony is we come across comedy like, ‘Adhu Nenjooo, Adhu Vairoooo, Adhu ko ko ko Konjam Thalllii‘. Not only this, there are a lot of adult comedies that pepper Tamil cinema. Take the recent movie Dhillukku Dhuddu 2. A nurse asks a patient OP (outpatient)-ah? – For this, the actor gives out a ‘dirty smile’ and nods his head. Both of these are family entertainment movies.
How many have opposed these scenes? In fact, people enjoy it. Almost all films of Vijay Sethupathi, Dhanush, every wannabe hero have a scene at a Tasmac shop. And this is supposed to be normal for modern young guys. But, when it comes to girls having it out on booze, dhum, dope and at roadside kayendhi bhavans, gorging on their dicey offerings, it’s ssshhhh. Right?
Women themselves would have opposed 90 ML if anywhere the director had called it ‘women empowerment’ or a ‘feminist’ movie. This is just like any another adult movie. Why go to town criticising it and sensationalising it unnecessarily?
Frankly, with its poor storyline, the movie would have vanished from theatres in days. But guess who is the reason that 90 ML is continuously making headlines? It is the ‘Kalacharam’ group. Let’s use the same words of our chauvinistic ‘reviewers’ – ‘See a movie as a movie’.
No one’s here to support dope/alcohol addiction. If you think a person would get addicted to drugs or alcohol by watching this movie, then the mistake is with that person. And, dear Netizens, if you are really against drugs and alcohol, then we salute you. But please, rather than hiding in cyberspace and posting comments of hatred against such movies, come to the streets and protest marijuana that is circulated in government school campuses… stage a strike against liquor shops that are open near schools, hospitals and old age homes… That would be the real fight.
